Start-Stop Systems are available across a range of auto manufactures. The principle is very simple: a start-stop system allows an engine to be automatically shut down when a vehicle comes to a complete stop and is engaged instantly when needed. For example, on approaching a red light the engine disengages when the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
A rough idle can be an indicator of several issues, and there are several ways to know if your idle isn’t right. A car that’s having idling problems will show several symptoms, including: Bouncing or shaking during idle. Inconsistent/jumping RPMs. Skipping/shaking sounds. Idling below 600 RPMs.
Feb 15, 2014. #12. FYI to those who may encounter this issue, an oil pressure test gauge showed warm idle at 25psi and 3000 rpm was at 75psi. FSM says 4.2psi or more at idle and between 43 and 85 at 3000 rpm. While I am 20 psi above the min FSM idle psi, I don't believe it's an issue as the FSM states " or more".
Reduces Soot. High idle reduces soot in the exhaust which results from incomplete combustion at low engine revs. This is important because when diesel engines are operating at low RPMs, more soot is generated. That can fill up the diesel particulate filter (DPF) which has been installed on diesel engines since 2008.
Idle, sleep or stop is a different names for similar processes in different MCU. Usually microcontrollers have a few oscillators, and one of them is main. Programm runs from main oscillators, some periferals, like ADC, UART, timers, etc run with another oscillators, mostly slower then main. Then process end, they wake up MCU from that mode.
